THE FRENCH REJOINDER.

According to “Le Journal,” M. Briand replied to the representatives of the German Ambassador, Von Hoesch, in regard to the strength of the Allied forces in the Rhineland, stating that there could at present be no question of reducing the strength of the French forces in the Rhineland, and pointing out that since December 1, last, the French troops had been reduced by about twentj thousand men, while the Belgians and British had reduced their forces by only one regiment, and one battalion respectively.
