(Oor ! Own Correspondent). REEFTON, December 1. A sooial was held at the Reefton District High Schdol on Friday eventog last.. A most enjoyable evening Was'spent, during the course of winch Master J. Ciitbush, captain of the senior fobtball team, presented Mr C. Whtson ’(who is leaving the with a dressing case’, asking Mr WatIson to accept it as a token of esteem and a mark of appreciation from the scholars. He said that Mr Watson s efforts as football coach duiing > season had helped very considerably in placing the school teams in the position that they held. Mr Watson suitably replied stating it was every teacher’s duty to work with the boys and girls and to get the best possible Results from them m every way. He thanked them very much for their fine present. The wedding was celebrated at the residence of the bridd’s parents Main Street, yesterday, of Mary, onlv daughter of Mr and Mrs Clarke, of Denniston, to Henry Leonard, second son of Mrs and the late Mr Robinson, of Buller Road. Rev. J. W. Bloyce, in the absence of Rev. C. Robinson, was the officiating • minister. The bride; who was given away by her father, wote a cream voile embroidered dress and was attended by Miss M. Burnett as bridesmaid, who wore a pale green frock and white hat. Mr S. Robinson acted as best man. Trie newly-married’ couple left by afternoon train" southward bound the bride’s going away frock being pale green clotji with a black hat, Mr J. B. Auld, County Chairman, has donated a gold medial for competition ariiong the members of the Reefton Fire Brigade. The Brigade have decided to make the competition a one man event, to be run off at an early- date. ' Mr. John Burley left for Dunedin by this morning’s express. Mrs Taafe, who been residing to Christchurch for .some time has

returned to Reefton. Mr R. Mclntosh - left for Dunedin this morning having been called away on mining business!. Mr Lascelles, who has been engaged on telephone wprk in Reefton, Heft for Christchurch this morning.
