In the first session of the final of 2000 up in the amateur billairds championship between Mason (Dunedin) and Hackett.(Auckland) at the close of play, the Dunedin man had scored 666 to. Hackett’s 542. The best breaks were : —Mason 46, 34, 33, 31; Hackett 76, 33, 25, 25.
ATHLETICS.
LONDON, November 30.
In the inter-’Varsity relay races, Cambridge beat Oxford by four events to one. Rinkel beat Porritt by eight yards in the last lap, winning in the record time of 89 seconds. Porritt assisted Oxford to win the hurdles.
