GARAGE ON FIRE
MANY CARS DESTROYED.

DARGAVILLE, December 2. A destructive fire broke out last night in the North Auckland. Farm* ers 1 ’ Co-op. Garage, one of the largest buildings in , the town. , The brigade was on the spot in ’ three minutes, but owing to t'hfj inflammable nature of. the stock, the place was- soon a raging furnace. .The theatre next door, the largest wooden building in Dai'gaville, was saved w th minor although the corridor at the side, containing the whole of the seats of the theatre which ’had been. stored there after a recent dance, was practically burnt out. The building destroyed, contained a very valuable plant and about eighteen motor cars. mostly privately owned, besides motor cycles., Only s : x out of the 18 cars were saved The: firm was unfortunate enougn to lose two cars and a motor truck just landed. A large stock of motor accessories was' also destroyed, The insurances, so rar as knojyn are £3,860 in the New Zealand Insurance Company. Some of the private cars destroyed carried small insurances. 'The theatre was insured for £2,000 in same company and £338 in the Alliance. The loss is many thousands over the insurances.:
