Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd.', report having received the following recent cablegrams from their London House: “Wool sales opened; attendance of buyers is large. Good general' competition, fairly good selection,- practically all offerings sold. As compared with last week’s closing rates —Greasy merino wools unchanged; greasy halfbreds, unchanged; scoured merinos, Id to 2d higher; greasy fine crossbreds, to Id higher ;’ greasy'medium crossbreds, Id higher; greasy coarse crossbreds, Id to higher; slipe fine crossbreds, unchanged ; other qualities and descriptions of wool, Id to l|d higher; scoured crossbreds, par to id higher. ” Butter. —Market barely steady. New Zealand salted 206/, Danish 218/, finest Australian salted 196/, unsalted 196. Cheese. —Market very quiet. Quotation, New Zealand and Canadian spot 112/ to 114/, c.i.f. 104/. 1410 easks of tallow offered; 660 sold. Prices unchanged. ABAHURA STOCK SALE. Yesterday’s fixture at the Arahura Yards was attended by a full gathering of buyers, when an entry of 80 head of cattle was submitted. The quality of the yarding was excellent, and though prices were back fully £1 per head as compared with the last sale, they were nevertheless equal to those of the last fixture in October. Prime ox beef, made to 51s per 1001 b, finished medium weights from 42/6 to 47/6. Prime heifer from 40/ to 46/6. Cow beef, of which there was a good sprinkling, ranged from 35/ to 42/6 according, to quality. Messrs W. Jeffries and Co. sold as follow :—For E. A.
