WESTPORT, November 28. The annual meeting of the —— Club was held in the County Chambers, when there was a good attendance of members. Mr W. Duncan presided, in the absence of Dlr Gothard. The annual report was read and adopt-, ed. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr G. H. Gothard; vicepresidents, Messrs P. Struthers, H. Levy, F. Clark, A. J. Green, J. H. M. Williams; secretary, Mr W. Duncan; treasurer, Mr A. J. Green. The bal-ance-sheet showed the club to be- in a prosperous condition, having a credit balance of £l5 ss, apart from other assets. i

Air J. Taylor won £25 in the Lewisham art union, and it is reported another resident won £lO.

Mr and Mrs Rowley leave to-day for Wakefield on a visit to their daughter, Airs Colin Parks.

Airs Lowe, who has been visiting friends at Denniston, left for Invercargill. Airs Markett, of Rotokohu, is visiting AVestport, and is the guest of Air and Airs Betts.

There was a larg eattendance at the Theatre Royal last night, the ocasion being the Victory ball. The hall and tables were decorated with floral and streamer designs, the whole setting being done by Airs Hansby and Airs P. Ryas. Air J. Spillane was AI.C. and Airs Curtis’ orchestra supplied the music. During the evening Air Parfitt, president of the Labour Party, congratulated Air Holland on his return to Parliament, and from his many admirers he presented Air Holland with a suit case, suitably inscribed. Aliss Dorothy Harkness, sister at the Alasterton Hospital, is resigning her position, and will spend a holiday with her- parents, Mr and Mrs J. H. Harkness.
