BRISBANE, November 30While repairing a well on his farm at Alton Downs, George Cook, a wellknown farmer, was overcome by foul air. Harry Butler, farm worker, descended to the rescue, but was also overcome.
Cook’s father then attempted to haul both to the top of the well, but collapsed, and Cook and Butler fell to the bottom and were killed.
