Yorkshire, first innings, 80/0 (Sutcliffe not out, fiftythree). The match was drawn. Essex, first innings, 145 (Kennedy 5 for 61). Hampshire, first innings 102 for 9. The match was drawn. For Northants against Sussex, Woolley made 121 and Juff took 5 for 58.. For Sussex Bowby made 104 and Holdsworth 110 not out. Kensby took 4 for 18, and Tate 4 lor 42 in the first innings, and 6 for 101 in the second. Tate is the first bowler to complete 200 wickets this season. He has created a record in so far as this is the third .successive year he has taken two hundred wickets, and scored a thousand runs. Sussex won. For Gloucester against Notts, Parker took 7 for 85. Notts won. For Lancashire against Derby, TJyldesley took 8 for 40, and Sibbles 5 for 30. Lancashire won. For Leicester against Glamorgan, Geary in the first innings took 6 for 67, and in the second 7 for 31. Bate in’ the second took 3 for 30. For Glamorgan Ryan took • 7 for 44 und Arnott 3 for 7. Leicester won. Rain interfered with play generally.
HOBBS DECLINES OFFER. LONDON, August 27. Hobbs bus declined an offer to appear in the Coliseum, to demonstrate stroke-making.
