The latter was a much smaller yarding than usually offered at these yards and though veiy little outside competition was present, the pens offered were keenly competed for and there was a distinct hardening in price throughout, ox beef making £1 per head more than the laslt. fixture, equal to about 3/- per hundred lbs. There was not the usual demand for sheep, most of the pens .being pass, ed. Messrs W. Jeffries and Co. sold as follow: —On account of Messrs Eg. geling Bros., 20 hoggets af 29/6. On account Messrs Nolan Bros. 56 breeding ewes passed at 320 n account Air W. Olderog, 2 vealers at £3/1/-. 1 at £2/19/6, 1 at £2/19/-, 2 light steers at £6, 2 at £6'7/6, 2 at £6.’ On account Mr W. F Deidrich. 1 bulleck at £l2 2 at £ll/15/-, 5 at £ll/s'-. 2 at £lO. 2 at £9/17/6, 3 steers at £7/17/6, 2 at £1 12/6, 2 heifers at £9/5/-. 1 at £B/15/-, 2 cows at £9/5/-, 1 at £5/7/6.
