' The death of Air Peter Nelson took place at his residence, Blaketown, last evening, ■at 11.30 o’clock. Deceased, who was in his ninetieth year, was a native of Denmaik, and arrived in Greymouth in 1864.\ He was employed for many years on Hie cargo boats which conveyed goods up the Grey liver prior to the advent of the railway. Later he took the position of. stevedore for the Blackball Coal Co. Ltd., which’ post he relinquished about 15 years ago, owinv to old age. Besides a widow, he loaves a family of four sons, one daughter, and three stepchildren, the sons being Alessrs Peter and George Nelson t (Greymouth), Edwaid Nelson ' (Christchurch),’ and Charles Nelson (AVellington), and his daughter Airs AlurraV (Grcymoutli). His stepchildren are Mrs J. AV'altpn and JEarl (Greymouth), and Capt. AAL Earl (AVestpOrt). The funeral will take place to-morrow afternoon and will be conducted b-- Archileic'on Carr.
