The Commonwealth Statistician reports the total value o; Australian oversea trade in 1923/4 amounted to £260,618,293 and exports £119,847,164, an increase on the previous rear, when the figures were : Imports £131,757,835 and exports £117,870,147.
CHEAPER CABLEGRAMS. — MELBOURNE, May 1. Mr Bruce announced that a reduction has been effected in the rates at present charged by the Pacific Cable Board for press cables. The present rate of 7£d a word will be reduced to 6d a word.
