Sir T. King says that the infantile mortality rate is still too great in New Zealand, and anaesthetics should be used where saving of the life of the mother, or the child, or the'mitigation of pain of the confinement is concerned. CONFIDENCE TRICK ALLEGED PALMERSTON N„ April 29. A young man, Dinholm Giljespie, was charged at the Police Court with stealing £73 from the person of ' Stanley Gibson. He was remande/1 till Friday. It is; alleged the accused was one of a party who are said to have worked the confidence trick at the Esplanade in '' February later disappearing to Australia. Accused was sent-.back to the Dominion from the Commonwealth and was arrested on arrival of the Ulimayoa at Wellington. r -
