It is reported that another large sawmill in the district will close down at the .end of this month, owing to shortage of orders for rimu. The Harbour' Board's tug Westland, was put on the slip at Cobden yesterday for survey, and was floated off again on the tide this morning. The Secretary of the West Coast A. and P. Association reports that, in view of the “set back” experienced by the Association, owing to the wet weather militating against the success of the recent Show, a number of the bigger prize winners have returned their cash prizes as donations. The generous act has been duly appreciated. The District Traffic Manager’s'-Office at Greymouth is to be closed on March 31, and thereafter it will be necessary to address , all general correspondence to the District Traffic Manager, RaiL ways, Christchurch. The .stationmaster in charge at Greymouth will attend to orders for wagons, etc., previously dealt with by the Traffic Office.
