AERIAL TOWER
A DESERT STRUCTURE.

LONDON, January 14.
The “Daily Chronicle’s” aeronautical correspondent announces that one of the most remarkable structures in the world, a steel tower two hundred feet in height, is being erected at Ismalia, on the edge of the Egyptian desert. It will serve as the intermediate station on the ‘airship route between London and Australia.
Passengers will emerge from the airship to a platform on the tower which is served by an electric lift. The tower is fitted with great searchlights flashing over thje desert all night long. When anchored to the mast, the airship is free to swing in any direction. R. 36, when recommissioned, will go to Ismalia for tests with the tower.
