The American submarine, Sl9, was wrecked on a sand bar off Chatham (Massachusetts). There ye forty officers and men aboard. <The seas are breaking, over the vessel, and it is too rough to rescue them. ; _ Meantime, there is no immediate danger as it is fully expected the compartments of the vessel will hold together unit! the weather moderates.
