PLUNKET SOCIETY

GREYMOUTH BRANCH MEETING.

A meeting of the committee of the Grey mouth, branch of the Plunket Society was held ii) the Council Chambers on Thursday; present: Mesdames Carr (president), Seddon, Barrett, O’Brien, Brailsford, Dennehy, Cuttie, McLean, and Mrs Denton (hon. secretary). Mesdaanes Brailsford, Walkey and Sipytlie were elected to the committee. It was resolved, on the motion of Mrs Dennehy, seconded by Mrs O’Brien, that the second Friday in each month be the regular, meetingday of the committee. It was resolved that the Mayors of Brunner and Runanga be written to enquiring if the residents of their towns wish to co-operate with Greymouth in securing the services of a Plunket nurse, and suggesting that each of those boroughs send a representative to the next meeting of the committee for the purpose of discussing the question. It was decided to write to the Central Council of the Society for full information relating to the establishment of the Greymouth branch. Mr E.- A. Warries was appointed treasurer of the branch. .It was resolved that the town of Greymbuth be canvassed for members, and it was decided to divide the town into blocks for that purpose, and immediately to commence the work of enrolling . members and collecting funds.
