DOUBLE SUICIDE

LECTURER AND TEACHER.

LONDON, September 12.

An inquest was opened oh the late University lecturer, Evelyn White, who committed suicide at Leeds in a cab when on the way to give evidence at the inquest on the teacher Miss Nind (who had also committed suicide, and who was shown to have been in correspondence with White). A verdict of suicide while of unsound mind, was returned. White’s brother said that the deceased, a week ago, was very upset. He said that Miss Nind had been pursuing him, but he had told.her he had no affection for her. Miss Nind had threatened suicide.
