NELSON LAND BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING.
The Nelson Land Board met on Thursday. Present: Mr N. C. Kensington, Commissioner of Crown, Lands (chairman), and Messrs R. Win, W. Q. Mirfin, and G. MacMahon. Leave of absence was granted to Mr R. Patterson.
The Board carried unanimously a vote of sympathy and' condolence with the relatives of the late Miss Stevens, formerly chief typist in the office. Applications for Land. — Mr A. W. Merritt applied for a pastoral license over .266 acres of Crown land in Blocks 11. and VII., Ngakawau Survey District. —Approved subject to deposit for survey. Section 16, Block XV., Takaka'S.D., 149 -jeres, P.L., Frederick Hope.—Approved subject to advertising. Section 12, Block VI., Matakitaki S.D., 52 acres 2 roods 11 perches, 0.L., E. E. Richardson. —Approved. Block I, Waitapu S.D., 130 acres, 0.L., H. A. Bishop. —Approved at £5 pei‘ annum. Transfers :—Sections 10, 12, Block V., Waitapu S.D., 948 acres. H. G. Kingsland to Pupu Pine Lands Co., Ltd.—Approved. Section 9, Block 1., Oparara. S.D., 578 acres, F. M. Smith to B. J.. R. Simpson. —Approved. Miscellaneous.— Mr A. Saunders wrote regarding section 9, Block VI., Pakawau S.D. —Resolved to declare rhe section forfeited. Part section 10, Block XVI., Rahn S.D., 840 acres 2 roods, half yearly rental £l3/5/0. —Resolved to declare the section forfeited. The Commissioner reported that the address of Mr J. E. M. Baird, the lessee of section 20, Block XL, Waitapu S.D., is unknown. —Resolved to declare the section forfeited.
