The South of England in the second innings scored 218 for 8 (declared). Hobbs made 34, completing two thousand runs for the season. Calthorpe made 42 and Gilligan 35. Catterall took 3 for 48, Meintjes 3 for 83. The S. Africans in the second innings scored 219 for 7. The match was drawn.
