GREY JOCKEY CLUB

MONTHLY MEETING HELD.

Those present at the meeting of the Grey Jockey Club yeserday afternoon comprised, the President (Mr T. E. Cpates), Messrs A. Beban, W. R. Kpttle, W. H. Parfitt, H. F. Doogan and J. Walton. , ,The Grey District Acclimatisation Society notified the appointment of Mr J. j E. Blair, the club’s caretaker, as ranger for the society. , The West Coast Master Bakers’ Association wrote asking for a share of the order for the club’s refreshments. The Secretary was asked to inform the association that tenders, would be called for the supply of refreshments. The Greymouth Golf Club thanked the club for the use of its property in the recent tournament.

, ( The following were elected to represent the club on the District Committee :—Messrs T. E. Coates, W. R. Kettle, H. F. Doogan, W. H. Parfitt, J. Walton and A. Beban.

; The New Zealand Racing Conference advised that a committee had been set up to go into the constitution of the conference.

It was resolved to reply that the club was quite satisfied with the present constitution.

DISTRICT COMMITTEE.

Afterwards a meeting of the Grey District Racing Committee was held. My T. E. Coates presided, and there were also present: Messrs W. R. Kettle, D. J. Evans, AV. H. Parfitt, H. F, Doogan, and A. Beban. , An application for a trainer’s and a jockey’s license from J. W. Jennings (Westport) was granted. The New Zealand Racing Conference wrote advising the cancellation of the i certificate of registration of the Kokatahi Racing Club, as this club had not held a meeting for four seasons. In a further letter the conference asked that a delegate be appointed to the New Zealand Dates Committee. Mr Coates was appointed to the position. The Murchison Racing Club wrote asking for the support of the committee in their application for a racing permit. It was agreed that every assistance possible be given.
