DETAILS ABOUT VICTIM.
THE MISSING “COUNTESS.”

LONDON, May 6. Events are moving rapidly in connection with the Eastbourne bungalow mystery. Detectives, this evening, took Mahon to Eastbourne, where they made a definite charge.
The police say that the victim was aged 28. She had been living at a woman’s club in West London, and was identified by means Sf a . skirt found at the bungalow. Her club mates say that Kaye was a pretty sweet-natured girl, wildly happy over her prospective marriage. She was never visited by men. Tennis was her chief hobby. A motor driver and other people in Eastbourne are emphatic that there was a second woman, whose soubriquet was “The Countess.”
Mahon’s mother is living at Liverpool. Mahon has been living with his wife and daughter at Richmond. He ' is an Irishman, and is a well-known member of the Mid Surrey Bowling Club, and was playing at the Club on Thursday, in his usual good spirits. He seemed very happy. The “Daily Express” says: Mr De Beilby, veterinary surgeon of Hailsham (near Eastbourne) states that the dead woman’s correct name wais Emily Beilby "Kane. She was his cousin. Her parents died when she was a child. ’Emily spent a holiday of three weeks in August, with Beilby and his wife. She also wrote from a club' frequently. Beilby was surprised to receive a. letter, weeks ago, saying that she was engaged, and intended to be married at Cape Town, when her fiance- had obtained a post Mr Beilby wrote immediately asking her to visit him before her departure, .but he received no reply.
WELLINGTON TRAGEDY.

WELLINGTON, May 7. Joseph Barnes, charged with the murder of Walter John Whall, was again before the Court to-day and on the application of the police, was again remanded to May 14. Counsel for accused said that if a further remand wa ( s then asked for, he would oppose it.
