SWEET PEA DISPLAY

ST. JOHN’S SOCIETY’S SHOW.

A very effective display of sweet peas and kindred blooms has been arranged by the St. John’s Horticultural Society in a manner which transformed the interior of St. John’s Hall to-day into a bower of beauty. The members of this society .show a commendable interest in horticulture, and the show they have arranged is a credit to any district. In addition to the exhibits there are numerous stalls around the hall which are attracting a good deal of revenue to the society, thanks to the efforts of the keen band of ladies behind the respective counters. The judge of the horticultural exhibits was Mr J. Verguson. The cookery .section was judged by Mr P. Blanchfield and Mrs Allison and Miss Berry adjudicated m. tile decorative sections.
