HICKSON MISSION
A REMARKABLE CURE. (Special to -‘Star.”) CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 6. As a result of the Hickson Mission at Dunedin, one cure was reported today, that of John McGill, of Winton. McGill met with a serious accident on December 10 last, a motor car having run over him. He received severe injuries to his shoulder, and his kneecap was fractured, and had to be set thee or four times. McGill attended the service yesterday, when lie was reported to be in frightful pain and walked on crutches. As one result of the accident one of McGill’s legs was about an inch shorter than the other. It was reported today by several competent observers that he was now able to walk without any assistance whatever, and the most miraculous thing was that there was
apparently no difference in the length of his legs. McGill walked to the Cathedral this morning in order to congratulate MrHickson for being the medium of such a wonderful cure. The particulars of McGill's injuries were verified by the patients and a nurse in the Invercargill Hospital. The nurse told a reporter that McGill had been discharged in a hopeless condition.
