IN PORT, Ngahere, Titoki. EXPECTED ARRIVALS. Ngakuta, Bluff, Wednesday. Opua, Wellington, Wednesday. Jhumata, Wanganui, Friday. PROJECTED DEPARTURES. Ngahere, Wellington, this day. The Titoki arrived here last evening from Wellington, via way ports. On discharge of general cargo she loads coal for Wanganui. The Regulus leaves Wellingon today with general cargo for Greymouth, via usual way ports. The Alexander is undergoing survey. She is expected to resume running about the 14th inst.
The Waimea loads at Onehunga on Thursday for Greymouth, via Nelson and Westport. The Ngahere arrived last night from Westport. She completes loading coal and sails for Wellington and Lyttelton this evening. The Ngakuta was expected to leave Bluff last night for Greymouth direct. She brings general cargo from Dunedin. The Opua is expected to-morrow morning. She loads timber for Wellington on arrival. The Ihumata is due on Friday night from Wanganui. She loads timber for Sydney an arrival. The Gabriella is due about December 12 to load timber for Sydney. AT OTHER PORTS. BLUFF, December 4. Sailed at 4.30 a.m., Ngakuta, for
Greymouth. SYDNEY, December 4. Arrived, Ulimaroa. NEWCASTLE, December 4. Sailed, Mahia, for New Zealand. SURGERY AT SEA. (Fez press Association.) „ AUCKLAND, December 3. A successful operation was carried out at sea. last Monday in the “Port Victor,” which arrived from Liverpool to-day. Seamen L. Willis developed an abscess just behind the ear, and this was removed by Dr. Bransgrove, the anaesthetic being administered by a lady doctor. Miss E. M. Hubbe, of Adelaide, as Dr. Bransgrove’s instruments were on another steamer. The chief engineer and a passenger assisted at the operation, which was performed in the saloon, the ship’s speed being reduced for two hours.
