A deputation from the counties of Kent, Devon, and Cornwall intervi“ved the Overseas Settlement Committee urging the establishment, of one English County areas in the Dominions. Colonel Newcombe requested Government aid in raising a loan for new areas. Mr Bryant, a New Zealander, who was a member of the Kent Committee, told of a twenty years’ work in building a I'ttle Kent in New Zealand. Mr Buckley, the Minister, promised consideration on the points raised. AMERICAN CONCESSION. NEW YORK, November 6. The “World” interprets the admission, on parole, of 1307 Britishers beyond fihe |im migration (quota, >as a proof that the United States immigration policy is being changed to curb a rush of immigrants from the Southern and Eastern Europe, and to encourage Northern and Western Europeans. It believes that a new onota is imminent, based on the census of 1890, admitting more British and Teutonic settlers, who it says, “slip readily into place among us.”-
