REEFTON, September 20. Alaster C’lif Cairns has been successful in securing the Lady Godley Cup for the best musketry score in the local Cadet Company for the year 1922-3, which he holds for one year. A medal also accompanies the Cup and becomes his property, lhe presentation Kok place at the Drill Hall last evening. Air and Airs W. J. Duff, who have been on a visit to Christchurch and South, returned on Tuesday evening. Mr G. Jenkins, teller of the Bank of New Zealand, left for Timaru on Tuesday, where he will be present at his sister’s wedding.

After some conversation about the success that had attended British immigrants in the Inangahua district, and enquiring where some could be interviewed, the Delegation left by Newman’s motors for Westport. At Inangahua Junction they inspected Mr G. Edgar’s farm. The Delegation left Westport this morning for Nelson. An accident occurred to Mr W. Patton, whereby he had a leg fractured. He and his mate, Mr P. Diggings, wtre cutting timber in the bush for the Consolidated Companys’ sawmill at Crushington, and had just cut a trey when ih| falling the tree swung round and Patton was unable to ?et out if the way quick enough, and a limb -if the tree struck him on the leg, fracturing it. He was brought into the Reefton Hospital, where his injuries were attended to. This makes the fourth case of broken limbs that has been brought info the Reefton Hospital within the last few days.
