DAIL EIREANN

MEMBERS TAKE OATH

(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association) LONDON, September 19. At Dublin the ceremony of swearingin the members of the new Dail Firearm was continued. The majority will be sworn in when the Dail first meets on Wednesday. No Republican members have been sworn in. It is stated that the Republican 'meadquarters still intend to ignore the Dail, and to refuse, to subscribe to an oath of allegiance to a foreign king. It is expected that the first session will be prolonged. REPUBLICAN MANIFESTO. LONDON, September 19. Air. Ruttledge issues a statement signed by eleven ungaoled Republican members, declaring that their opponents’ appeal for peace and stability had been rigid insistence on the oath of allegiance, which was the most immediate barrier to unity. There could, be no peace progress while their opponents refuse to recognise the futility of ignoring the existence of the unconquerable Republic spirit.
