QUESTIONS ABOUT A CHEQUE

During the course of the sugar enquiry, William Davies explained that lie sent a cheque for a thousand pounds from .Java to Deane to invest for him. He drew over five thousand from the Bank within a week, during which he held up the cheque sent to Deane. Cross examined, witness said he overlooked Deane’s cheque for a week as after putting it in a wallet, he changed suits the next day and did not recollect the cheque until he wore the first suit again a few days later. The enquiry stands part heard.
