’BUS TO KUMARA

REGULAR SERVICE STARTED. Signs of the progressive influence of the opening of the Otira Tunnel are aready apparent. Not least among theem is the institution of a direct daily motor service between Greymouth and Kumara. Not since the days of the old tram has any communication of a regular nature been effected between the two towns, and those with interests in Kumara, which is showing many indications of a rapid return to prosperity, will be pleased to hear that such a valuable medium of communication is in operation. The car to be used in the service is a charabanc, capable of comfortably seating twentyfive persons, and the enterprising proprietor is Mr Liddle, who advertises lus time-table and fares in this issue.

The charabanc is the largest seen anywhere in the South Island, and its appearance is a guarantee of comfort, speed and dependability. The fact that a film has placed such confidence in the future of the town of Kumara as to place such a vehicle on the road shows that it has faith in the future of the historic old town, and those who know the progress of Kumara and the surrounding places are convinced that the firm’s confidence is not misplaced. 'The service is destined to be a very popular institution, and will have a good influence in bringing the two towns into closer touch with each other Io .the benefit of both. The car will stop at intermediate places to pick up parcels, goods and so on for delivery, and in this alone will prove a great boon to persons living in the intermediate localities. Apart from the time-table services, the car is available for other requirements, such as those of dance and picnic parties, which will be arranged for at a moderate rate. Those who tire interested in the institution. of the service arc advised io cut out the time-table and schedule of fares for reference.—A.D.
