WAIUTA, January 30. On Sunday last, the Reefton Cricket Team arrived per motor to play the Locals, a first-class game resulting in a win for our boys, inc weather was all that could be desired Mrs. O’Donnell provided a splenuid repast, and despite being the loosers, the visitors were well satisfied with the day’s outing. Miss A. O’Donnell and Miss Kn> ridue, leave on Thursday for a trip to Christchurch. Miss Holdsworth, who has been in charge of "The Cottage Hospital set* cred his connection on February _ 1, and leaves for England, via New South Wales. A few friends paid a surprise visit last evening to wish her a pleasant journey. During the fine weather our tennis court is well patronised presenting <juite a gay appearance. Quite a numIxr have joined the club this year. Mr. T. Broderick is erecting a shop on the main road and Mr. D. Robertson intends adding to his. Evidently the business people have faith in tne progress of this town. On Saturday, February 10, a monster picnic will be held for the school children. A very able committee has the affairs well in hand. All that is wanted is a fine day to give the kiddies this yearly treat.
