POWER BOARD
ELECTION TO-DAY.
Under miserable weather polling is proceeding today for the election of representatives ol the (ii'e.v County, Brunner Borough, and Cobden Town District on the first Grey District Electric Power Board. i be. amount of water-power in the district to-day should ensure the success of any hydro-electric, scheme decided upon. In connection with the selection of three representatives for the Borough of Greymouth, a meeting was held yesterday, attended by the nominators of three ' of the candidates (.Messrs Perkins, Kitchingham and Tennent) nd a general committee of nine persons. It was decided that, in order to avoid the expense of an election, one of the three above-named candidates should withdraw. Lots were drawn, ami as aresult Mr Kitching- • m withdrew from the contest, Hie elected representatives therefore being Messrs Perkins, Tennent, and Doogan.
