ROWERS’ BUILDING SHIPS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association., NEW YORK, June 27. The New Yoik Times’s” Washingtor correspondent reports that the latesl official Naval Intelligence Department’s survey of the increase in the naval pro gi amines of the five Powers signatory’ tc the Washington Naval Treaty, shows that Japan has building, and projected, more ships of unrestricted types than any other Power. The types are first line light cruisers, destroyers and leaders, first line destroyers, first line submarines, and fleet submarines. Britain is building of these respectively, none of the first type, one of 1750 tons in the second type, three of 3,72 tons in the third type, four of 5,800 tons in the fourth type, and none of the fifth type. The United States is building ten of 7,500 tons, first type, none of the second, three of 3,645 tons in the third type, 36 of 31,561 tons in the fourth, and three of 6,375 tons in the fifth. Japan is building fifteen of 81,900 tons ins the first, none in the second, fifty’ of 58,500 tons in the third, twentythree of 30,594 tons in the fourth, fiftytwo of unknown tonnfige in the fifth. France is building three of 24,000 tons in the first, six of 14,400 tons in the second, twelve, of 16,800 tons in the third, twelve of 13,200 tons in the fourth and lone of the fifth. Italy has two 16,000 tons in the first, ;ix of 12,270 in the second, twelve of 11,680 in the third, four of 2,600 in the ourth, and none of the fifth.
