TRAINER ACQUITTED

GIRL WITHDRAWS SIOKY. per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 29. There was rather a sensational ending to the charge against a well-known trainer at Trentham, of tampering with a girl not quite fourteen years of age. _ In the box the girl said that he was not the man, although she had told the police ..and her parents that he was. She alleged that she did not know who the man was, and had never seen him since, nor could she give a description of him. Her parents said the girl had tola the same story up to Tuesday night, and then had said that it was not the accused. The medical evidence was that the girl had been tampered with. The S.M. said that the case would 1 have to be dismissed, but he refused expenses to the parents, saying that they would have to put up with it H they had a lying little daughter.
