AUSTRALIA

(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) MINISTERIAL “CAA T E.” SYDNEY, June 27. The “Telegraph” states that Air. T. Henley is joining several other coalitionists to form a “cave,” with the object of keeping Cabinet up to the collar. It is understood that the “cave,” whilst not directly hostile to the Government, is holding meetings in the Independents’ room, in lieu of the Alinisterial room. SCHOLARS TRIP HOME. SYDNEY, June 27. Alajor Belcher has. issued a memorandum setting out particulars for the proposals to send contingents of schoolboys from the Dominions to the Empire Exhibition in 1924. He estimates that the approximate cost per head would be £lOO, provided the Commonwealth and States bore the cost of transport. He suggests that the contingent should consist of two hundred and fifty, selected from the States on a pro rata basis. RAILAVAY CONCESSIONS. SYDNEY, June 27. Doctor Prescott, Principal of the Newington College,, replying to the Cabinet’s reported intention to restrict free train travelling to pupils at State free schools, has prepared a statement showing that 74,000 are educated in non-State sclools, resulting in a saving of over half a million a year to the Government. He suggests, therefore, that the saving proposed would be only trifling in comparison, and would irritate many people.

SYDNEY, June 27. Arrived, Ulimaroa.
