Our Christchurch corresponednt telegraphed to-day : —The Secretary of thejOhristchurch U.S.A. ' received a letter from the headquarters of the Returned Soldiers’ Association stating that the General Manager of Railways, Mr. McVilly, has notified the Association that an arrangement has been entered into between the Department and the Engine Drivers’, Firemen and Cleaners’ Association, whereby members will be reinstated in the same relative position on D 3 list, which they occupied on April 1, 1920. By this arrangeent, all returned soldier drivers, firemen and cleaners will regain their proper place on the list which they lost owing to actual time having been counted, in compiling the lis since April 1, 1920.
