NATIONAL TRADE.
STEADY IMPROVEMENT. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 17. The Dominion’s balance of trade shows some recovery according to the Government Satistician’s figures covering a period which has been marked by anxietc in public and private financial circles. It will be remembered that in March, 1920, the imports roughly balanced the ex ports. Then, owing to the abnormal influx of goods the imports increased unlit the excess over exports in October 1920, was £3,000,000. After that a- recovery set in. It* was modest at fit.-t, and was interrupted by a slight setback last winter, but thence onward the imprciemennt has been steady and piogressive, except in March last, when the imports showed a small excess over the exports. The figures for the six months from November to April are as follows:
