Jurors summoned to attend at the Supreme Court on Wednesday next are notified that their attendance will not be required. The Kohinoor dance and euclire drive which was held on Friday evening proved very successful. The euchr© tournament competition was keenly contested. Mrs. Dumble won tho ladies’ prize (bag of flour). Master Cameron was awarded a silver cigarette case. The orchestra which played the dance music was much appreciated. Supper was dispensed by a committee of ladies. The death took place at Westport on Friday of Mr. John O’Callaghan, proprietor of th© Royal Hotel. Deceased had been in ill health for some time. The late Mr. O’Callaghan was a native of Listowel, Ireland, 63 years of age, and had been 43 years in New Zealand. For many years he worked for the Westport Harbour Board, filling the position of foreman of the quarries at Cape Foulwind, and for a time undertook some important work in a like position at Timaru for the Timaru Harbour Board. He is survived by a widow and a grown-up family of four daughters and two sons. The daughters are Mrs. Daly, and Misses Maggie, Alice and Eleanor O’Callaghan, and the sons, Messrs John and Edward O’Callaghan. The funeral took place yesterday.
