ROSS-SMITH’S FUNERAL.

ADELAIDE, June 15
Business was suspended practically all over the city for the funeral of the late Sir Ross Smith, which took place at midday. The Courts adjourned and shops closed, and during the progress of the cortege train traffic was suspended. The casket was borne on an aeroplane trailer bearing the cap, medals, goggles and gloves of the dead airman, followed by returned soldiers, airmen and fourteen State carriages. Dense crowds lined the route. The funeral was one of the largest and most imposing ever witnessed in Adelaide.

PARIS, June 15. Major Blake is held up at Isstres, as he had to return his machine, which needed further overhauling. SEAPLANE SERVICE. LONDON, June 14. The Air Ministry has approved of a new service linking Southampton with Cherbourg and Havre, by means of seaplanes. The shipping companies are interested in the project, as it shortens ti e Atlantic journeys.
