NOTES FROM TRENTHAM. ’ (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A lot of rain fell at Trentliain last * night, and the tracks were on the heavy side this morning. AU work was done on the inside trial grass gallop. Silver Peak beat Songbird over a mile in 1.49. Wamba sprinted half a mile in 52 1 secs. Backsheesh beat Spook over five furlongs' in 1.9. Printemps, assisted by two stable mates, ran a mile in 1.47. Radiant Light, Absurdum, Truthful and Surveyor were given easy pace work. Songbird was left in the St. Leger in way up, and may not be able to run at the meeting. Singbird was loft in the St. Leger in error, and he is unlikely to start at the meeting if the going is heavy. Owners and trainers are given a final reminded that nominations for the Ktunara Racing Club’s meeting, to be held on the Greymouth racecourse on Easter Monday, close with the Secretary, at Kurnara, to-night.
