(By “Arlington.”) There will be racing at Westport and Cheviot to-morrow. I'aphian, who was a starter on botii days at Rangitikei, appears to have lost’ all form. Anomaly, who won a mile and. ciquarter handicap at Woodville in December, is handicapped as a non-stayer at Riccarton- He has 9.1 ni the Great Easter and 8.1 in the Great Autumn. Cameron intends to try his luck in Australia with Molyneux, Tigrinia and Chant Royal. 100 Chow should be prominent in the finish of the Cheviot Cup to-mor-row. Sonny, who is engaged at Cheviot, can go very fast over a mile and a-hall of the hurdles. ’Frisco Maid is expected to show up prominently at Cheviot. Urgency, the half-brother to Malaga, has rejoined F. D. Jones’s stables. Foo Chow and Palestrina will both claim the apprentices’ allowance in the Cheviot Cup to-morrow. Whipping Boy has wrenched a joint ami is a very doubtful starter at the Wellington Autumn Meeting. Wild Briar will not be a starter at Timaru to-morrow. The outside of the trial grass was open for fast work on T uesday amt, though soft, it was in fine order for galloping. The majority of R. J. Mason s team having been sprinted from the five furlong barrier on Monday, were given a holiday on Tuesday, the only pair to be worked being Pluto and Vespucct. The former jumped off from the mile post, with a light lad up, and being picked up by Vespucci at the live furling post, reached the half mile in 54 3-5. From there the pair raced home together. Pluto’s time for the mjle was 1.44 1-5, which was a smart performance. Winning Hit, carrying fully 9st, raced away from the mile post, and was joined soon after by Red Flint!. They passed the half mile peg together in 53sec. Shortly after Red Hind was beaten, and Winning Hit, ridden out, completed the miel in 1.44 4-5, finihsing well. Foo Chow gave Kilmoon a good deal of weight, and had to be held back to

him while they ran seven furlongs' in 1.32 2-5. Foo Chow was pulling hard at the end of the gallop and is particularly well. Moorland gave Triermain. a bad beating over half a mile in 49 3-ssecs-Palestrina, loafed over six furlon e s in 1.18. n , Conurus beat Wartune over five furlongs up the back, the last half-mile being, run by him in 51 2-ssec. Cattach gave Ronifonn weight am a beating over five furlongs on the plough in 1.5 4-5. Pvjama finished better than Quairelsome at the end of four furlongs m 51 2-5. Jazz was too good for Milestone over four furlungs run m bJsec. Clean Sweep is reported to have broken down. . Sonnv (D. McMullan), Chmatown (W. Ssobie), and Endure (A. Worm aid) set out for a schooling gallop out four Hights of hurdles. Endure, who led over the first two flights, jumping well, was then pulled off, and the other two raced home together. Sonny jumped well, but. Chinatown was slovenly. Vice Regal (McMullan) and Likelihood (T. L. Reid) were companions m a gallop over four flights of hurdles, both jumping -well.
