MANTLE MODES

HjyGirls' Did you see Annette Kellerman’s fasluon displays at the Opera House? Weren’t tuey great? You couldn’t help admiring them. Really, girls, they were gorgeous. I went witu Airs. Brown Brown and—oh I the way the ladies went on I bloating around the warm air you could hear remarks like these: ‘’Charming!” ‘Wonderful!’ “Oh, how Unique!” “Stu-u-pen-dous!”- AVell, Airs. Brown Brown said, ‘‘Why should be leave it to these travelling companies to give the fashion displays? Why can’t we have some of our own?”-Now, girls, someone must have overheard Airs. Brown Brown. Do you know that they’ve actually started a fashion display at C. Smith’s? Yes, girls, you can’t be up to these big firms. In Smith s showrooms after next Thursday you will find a beautiful selection of trimmed hats in all the latest colours and styles—Fuschia, Jade, Henna, Black and so on, and pull-on hats in suede, felt, wool and velvet. Some are to be shown with the flowing veil, which is very prominent now and it adds quite a finish to the hats. With the winter display there is a lovely range of hand-made silk jumpers wiJh fringe colours such as Apricot, Peacock, Jade and Kingfisher. As lor coats they are there in all styles and colours, and the price is right. The goods, I hear, 'are all selected by Aliss Bourke from the leading warehouses. Don’t forget to be there on Thursday to see the display—Airs. Brown Brown and I are going.—A.D.
