THE STARTING QUESTION. (Special to the Star.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The Committee of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club has had the starting question under consideration for some time past. The seconds system will be retained for the Easter meeting, but it is understood that the yards system will be adopted from the beginning of next season. With tlie adoption of the yards system at Addington, popular opinion is that Canterbury Park and New Brighton Clubs will soon follow suit, in which case this method of starting will be the rule at all the principal meetings of the Dominion. THE GREENWOOD TEAM. (Special to the Star.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A definite decision as to whether Mr G. D. Greenwood’s team is to visit Sydney for the Easter meetings has not yet been arrived at. It has been stated that Mason is awaiting the appearance of the handicaps for the principal, events. In a conversation last week, however, Mason said nothing about the weights, but said he was having trouble over shipping accommodation, and he left the impresison tha the trip would eventuate if the necessaiy space could be secured for the horses.
