The newspaper “Arrow’s” swimming expert, commenting on recent Ntw Zealand doing*, says; “World’s and Australasian records are being toyed with to an astonishing degree, aid knocked off their high perches as if oidm-iry things It behoves the Custou’iaii of Records to have care, par ticnlarly in regard to the -women s performances, which were no doubt timed by women, who, through lack of experience, do not handle the d'.rom'meter with the accuracy of men. The expert asks that if there was anyone checking these claims?
‘ OFFICIAL DENIAL. •' (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Alareh 11. Air. B. O’Neill, Secretary of the _ New Zealand Swimming Association, states that the Alisses Hoeft’s and Shand’s rect rds at the championships were timed by competent, male timekeepers. and that no championship pei torinances in the Dominion have ever been timed by women.
