In a circular being distributed amongst all branches of the Returned Soldiers’ Association in the Dominion, the president (Sir A. 11. Russell) states that an appeal has been made by Lord Plumer, Governor of Malta, for small contributions towards a war memorial in Malta which is to take the form of the endowment of a children’s ward. “Many New Zealanders” states Sir Andrew, “passed through Alalta hospitals, and they will no doubt remember with gratitude the care they received there, and the sympathy of Lord Methuen, then Governor of the. island. It is suggested that this object bo brought to the notice of members of the association in tho hope that any vho were a.t Alalta, and who are sympathetically inclined, may make !i small contribution, not to exceed 10s. All moneys collected should be sent to headquarters. New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association, Wellington.”
