FARMERS’ UNION
ROTOKOHU BRANCH. (From Our Correspondent). A meeting of the Rotokohu Farmers’ Union was, held in the schoolroom on Monday evening last when there was a large attendance of members, Mr. Kerr presiding. The proposal to revive the A. and P. shows in Reefton was again enthusiastically discussed and it wt® decided to ask Mr. I. Patterson to call a meeting of all interested. The Secretary was also instructed to write to the several unions on the Coast soliciting their support. A deputation was appointed to meet the County Engineer oh his arrival at Rotokoljii in connection with Landing Creek Road. A letter was received from the General Manager, N.Z.R., informing tho Union that the request for trucking yards and conveniences at the station was under consideration. Several members spoke very strongly on the unsanitary state of the station surroundings and it was decided that a deputation meet the local District Triflic Manager and urge upon him the necessity for prompt actioi . On the motion of Messrs Paine and Murcott it was decided “that Mr. Hudson, 31. P., bo written to, asking if he considers it advisable to endeavour to have the Land Board more representative of leaseholders, this uni< n considering that the Government had too many nominees.”
