TECHNICAL SCHOOL
GREY-COBDEN REPRESENTATIVE. A combined meeting of the School Com mittees of Cobden and Greymouth was held in the Grey District High School lasi evening to elect a representative on the Board of Management of the Greymouth Technical High School. Mr P. Mackenzie occupied the chair, and Mr W. Blah acted as secretary. Mr E. L. Kehoe attended and explained the method of electing such a representative. The following were nominated for the position:—Messrs «T, Tennent, F. C. Wade, C. Grams, P. Mackenzie, and F. Pullen. The first ballot resulted as follows :—Mackenzie 8 votes, Tennent 7, Wade 6, Grams 6, Pullen 2. The last three ’dropped out, and the second ballot resulted in Messrs Mackenzie and Tennent receiving eight votes each. The names were then put in a hat, that of Mr Mackenzie being drawn, and he was declared duly elected. Messrs Williams and Millar acted as scrutineers. Mr Mackenzie returned thanks for his election, and the meeting concluded with the passing of votes of thanks to the Chairman and Mr Kehoe.
