The Labour Party’s social and dance will be held in the Druids’ Hall this evening. Two pure-bred Berkshire sows are advertised for sale. A good reliable girl is wanted. A bunch of keys and a gold brooch has been lost. Read advertisement. I The social in aid of Holy Trinity Church to take place to-morrow (Tucs- : day) evening, has been' postponed. Mr. R. Rothwell, of Christohurch, has purchased the welfknown Trocaredo Restaurant, which he is renovating and refurnishing. For this purpose the business will be closed for the next few days. * The usual learners’ dance will be held in the United Club’s pavilion this evening. The music and floor, with efficient M.C., will be all that learners could desire. A children’s hard-up and, fancy dress ball will be held in Columba Hall, on "‘Thursday next in aid of the re-building fund, and judging by the interest being displayed by the young folk, promises to bo a great success. Prizes will be given for the bestdressed boy and girl, and the most original costume. The call of the thrifty men—“H.B.” bargains. Many a man has adapted in the past the attitude of “I’ll make it do” with regard to suits. Prices were high, admittedly high hgainst H.B.’s will, but facts had to be faced. Its very different to-day. Things have changed. “H. 8. suit prices have been re-adjusted to meet the change, and every man in the Dominion can reap the benefit. “H.B.’s” advertise in this issue special prices in men’s suits. Ask to see these goods. They are worth inspection.
