WEDDINGS

WALLACE—DIMICK.

A very popular wedding was solemnised at St. Columba Church, Koiterangi, by the Rev. A. C. Purcliass, the parties to the happy contract being Miss Amy Dimick, of Koiterangi and Mr. Mark Wallace, of Koikrangi. The bride who was given away by her brother, Mr. A. Dimick, looked the picture of happiness, wearing a smart navy costume with steelgrey hat relieved with black and gold viil and carried a. shower bouquet of white and gold chrysanthemums with streamers. The bridesmaid, Miss Jean Cunningham, also wore a navy costume with grey and blue hat and carrii d a bouquet of chrysanthemums. Mr. Malcolm (Mac) Wallace, ably carried out the duties of best man. The church, which was tastefully decorated by the friends of the bride, was crowded to the doors. On entering the church the wedding inarch -was played by Airs. Little. After the ceremony a large gathering of relations and friends were entertained at breakfast in the hall, the tables being tastefully decorated with the bridegroom’s football colours. The usual toasts were duly honoured and showers of congratulatory messages read. The presents were numerous and costly. Songs were rendered by tho Rev.' Mr. Berry of Kuinara, Messrs Sevett and Crop. The bride--2*l’oo Ill’s present to the bride was a gold bangle and to tho bridesmaid, ,a gold pendent and chain. The bride’s gift to the ■ bridegroom was a set ol military hair brushes. In the evening Mi-, and Mrs. Dimick entertained a large number of guests in the hall. The music was supplied by Mr. Hawkins and Mr. Morris. During the evening songs were rendered by Miss Clark, W. Diedrichs, A. and W. Cropp. M. Camback, Messrs Fluety and Curtain. Miss Harcourt and Mr. Hawkins played the accompaniments. Supper was handed round by the ladies, when the health of the bride and bridegroom was drunk with musical honours. Dancing was indulged in until earlv hours. The bride ,and bridegroom left by motor at about 9 p.m en route to Westport and Nelson, amid showers of rico and confetti, cheers and good wishes. On the Monday evening previous, tho residents mt the district tendered a social in the hall in the form of a kitchen evening. Miss Dimick received a large numner of presents, both useful and costly; the residents presenting her with, a silver cruet. Opportunity was taken o by the Anglican community to present Miss Dimick with a prayerbook; also the football club to present' Wallace with a beautiful travelling rug. Dancing was indulged m until early hours, tho music being supplied bv Air. Hawkins (piano), Mr. Kelly (violin). Mr. Jamieson earned out the duties of AI.C.

GUNN—BAKER

The “Westland Church Supplement” reports a very interesting wedding in South Westland as ,^ Uo Y’ be On May 17th, the first celebrated in St. Luke s Wata-roa, took x pl ace between Sis er Baker and Air. Frank Gunn. Th bride looked charming in her uniform, and was attended by Miss Ruth Northcroft and Mi s J s Glinn as bridesmaids. Air. m\vih Hardie Gunn acted as best mam s'_ that altogether it was ™ affair The behaviour of the onae mails was unimpeachable. The newlv married couple will have the hearty wishes of all South Westlantos.
