Received this day at 10.45 a.m. MELBOURNE, August 30.—Owing to supplies of coal being now available the restrictions on the use of gas and electric power have been withdrawn. MEDICAL CONGRESS. BRISBANE, August 30.—At the closing session of the Medical Congress it was announced that a ballot taken had resulted in favour of discontinuing meetings of the Congress. The Executive Committee was authorised to take steps to wind up the affairs of the Congress. LABOUR COUNCIL'S DECISIONS. SYDNEY, This Day.—A meeting of union officials, by 74 votes to 13, pledged itself to endeavour to change the personnel of the present Labour Council. This is a counter-blast organised by the Australian Labour Party against the recent Labour Council's decision in regard to the "goslow" and irritating strikes.
A FRESH START. SYDNEY, August 30.—Parer and Mcintosh have resumed their flight in a new machine. Passing Chiltern they dropped a message: "All well." MELBOURNE, This Day. Contrary to expectations, Parer and Mcintosh arrived at Melbourne in the Defence Department's biplane, and spent a quiet evening at Parer's home. There will be a public welcome on Tuesday at Flemington.
