Received this day at 8.5 a.m. ANTWERP. August 15. The first clay of the Olvmpic Competitions was well attended in brilliant weafch;-r. The contests generally were keen. The programme included the heats and semi-finals of the one hundred and eight hundred metres, four-forty hurdles and Javelin throwing. The world's record Javelin throw was 62 5-8 metres established by Jonni Myrra.
